Things are cooking! We are staying really busy
at ClackaCraft. Right now we are heading
into the Sportsman's Show season.
Our first show is the International Sportsman's Expo (ISE)
in Sacramento, California, at the Cal-Expo. I'll be there
with two boats from January 12 through the 16th.
January 19 through 23 Jack Parker with be at the Denver Sportsmen's
Show at the Colorado Convention Center. Later in the month Jack
will be in Somerset, New Jersey, at Garden State Expo Center,
for The Fly Fishing Show, January 28 through 30. January 26 through
30 I'll be in Puyallup, Washington, at Western Washington
Fairgrounds for the Washington Sportsmen's Show.
These shows are a great opportunity to come out and see the
new boats. We will have the new Series 2001 and some older Series
2000 that we would like to close out. Check us out. There may
be some deals available.
I've been trying to get out in my new boat, since the
high water has been receding. On New Year's Day Joyce and
I floated a section of the Nestucca River with our two dogs,
Zane and Yukon. We were fishing divers and bait for winter steelhead.
Let me tell you a young yellow lab is maybe not the best companion
when fishing plugs in the boat. Yukon kept jumping around, bouncing
into the rods. Old Zane, on the other hand, Just laid at Joyce's
feet and slept through the rain and hail storm. After the third
hail storm, I decided I'd be having more fun at the beach
house in front of the wood stove with a book.
Joyce's son Jeff and I did a little better last Saturday,(1/8/00).
We floated the Clackamas River. Although we didn't land
a steelhead, we had two good strikes. Maybe next time we will
get a fish.
We have more new guides coming over to ClackaCraft all the time.
Recently Mark Bachmann, co-owner of The Fly Fishing Shop in Welches,
Oregon (503) 622-4607 and trout and steelhead guide has begun
using a 17 foot ClackaCraft Northwest. He has some very complimentary
comments about his new boat. You can check out his web site at
